Nazareth Convent and Academy
Thirteenth and Washington
Concordia

Placed on the
National Register of Historic Places
1-18-73

The cornerstone for the building was laid on May 15, 1902 and the main building was completed in late June 1903.  A section known as the Music Hall was added in 1906 to the southwest end of the building, and in 1907-08 the Chapel wing was added to the east end of the building. The five-storied structure is of Gothic style and constructed of limestone and red brick.

The corner minarets, the rose window of the Chapel wing and the central tower are outstanding features of the building.  The tower has a pyramidal roof with four opposed dormers and is topped by a cross.
