Kansas City theater architect, Carl Boller, drew blueprints for the French Renaissance style 650-seat theater. It was completed at a cost of $40,000 in 1907. It has two balconies, eight box seats, and features a grand drape, a reproduction of a Horace Vernet painting titled, "Napoleon at Austerlitz." The Brown Grand closed in 1974 but was reopened in 1980 after six years of renovation and at a cost of $500,000. For further information: http://browngrand.org/history.htm
